Canin Associates is an advocate of using the charrette process to promote creativity and emphasize client involvement in the design process. A "charrette" is an intensive creative session, typically lasting several days, in which a team of professionals, including participants from many disciplines such as planners, architects, landscape architects, environmental experts, and the client, concentrates on specific design issues and explores alternative solutions. The output from the workshop is presented to the team in regular pin-up sessions and carefully documented at the conclusion of the charrette.
