Landscape Designer

Canin Associates is seeking a Landscape Designer / Project Manager to join our team in Orlando. We are looking for a motivated individual who is an inspiring designer and effective project manager. Candidates for this position will provide leadership and support in creative design solutions for a full range of project responsibilities from concept to construction administration. Our projects include a wide range of lifestyle/resort, master planned community development projects, parks and open spaces. Working with our collaborative team offers the benefits of a boutique style office and high-profile projects.

Position Requirements

  • Landscape Designer with 3-10 years of experience
  • Demonstrated skills in conceptual design through site specifications for a variety of project types
  • Exceptional communication skills including written, graphic presentations and excellent verbal abilities
  • Expertise in analyzing and interpreting professional documents and literature for technical procedures and government regulations
  • Proficiency in technical capacity for work flow management across a variety of software including MS Office, Autocad, Land FX and Adobe Creative Suite. Sketch Up, Revit and Lumion is a plus
  • Local plant material knowledge is a plus
  • Commitment to self-improvement, continuous learning and innovation

Education Required:

  • Masters in Landscape Architecture preferred, other related undergraduate degrees acceptable

Urban Planner – Mid Level

Canin Associates’ award-winning urban planning and design studio is a national and international practice with a focus on sustainable, new urbanist community planning for both the public and private sectors.

Canin Associates is currently seeking qualified candidates to augment our Urban Planning Studio. The successful candidate will join a talented group of planners, urban designers, landscape architects and architects dedicated to best practices in mixed use and urban development. An understanding of the principles of community planning and its application to a variety of contexts including commercial, multi-family, mixed use, infill, and multi-modal transportation projects is important. Experience in planning analysis, comprehensive planning, land development regulations, multi-modal transportation planning, public engagement, and project entitlement processes is preferred.

We are seeking a passionate individual who enjoys taking on a variety of tasks and project types. Candidates should be willing and capable of learning new skills and interested in continually expand their professional horizons. Design Intern

Canin Associates is looking for design interns to join our collaborative team of landscape architects, urban designers, and architectural designers at the beginning of each term.

During your internship with Canin Associates, you’ll have the opportunity to collaborate on a wide range of public and private projects with other design professionals. While most of your projects will relate directly to your discipline, we also believe in a well-rounded, interdisciplinary approach to internships, meaning you’ll experience working in all three of our design studios as well as on our marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate will be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in the fields of landscape architecture, architecture, urban planning, regional planning, or urban design. You should be familiar with or ready to learn the following programs:

  • AutoCAD
  • SketchUp

Urban Planner, Entry-Level

Canin Associates is always accepting resumes from qualified candidates to join our collaborative team of urban planners, landscape architects and architects.

As an urban planner at Canin Associates you will have the opportunity to work with a small, dynamic team of urban planners and designers.  You will work closely with the studio director, other urbanists and our interdisciplinary team of landscape architects and architects. Our planning studio works with private and public clients on a range of projects including masterplans for new towns and infill neighborhoods, town center designs, comprehensive plan amendments, large project standards, GIS analysis, form-based codes and design guidelines.

The ideal candidate will be a graduate of a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in urban planning or a closely related field with 0 to 2 years of work experience.  In addition to exceptional research, organizational and written and verbal communication skills, we are looking for applicants who can demonstrate ability in the following programs:

Architectural Designer with Strong Revit Skills

Canin Associates is always interested in dynamic people with excellent Revit skills for our Architectural Design Studio. Typical work includes preparing construction documents of house plans, clubhouses and other light commercial projects including full-time positions with excellent benefits.

Skills Required:

  • Team-oriented individual to work closely with designers to fully understand and carry out design intent from Schematic
  • Design through Construction Documents
  • Be enthusiastic and highly productive, detail oriented and quality-minded
  • Deadline-driven to produce Revit plans on budget and on time
  • Demonstrate strong experience in construction materials – the position requires in part the drawing of roof plans, wall sections and details
  • Familiarity with current local Building Codes
  • AutoCAD or SketchUp expertise a plus.
