Mount Plymouth-Sorrento Project Overview
The Central Florida Sustainable Communities Initiative (CFSCI), the non-profit endeavor set up by Canin Associates to offer technical planning assistance to local planning agencies, led the community of Mount Plymouth-Sorrento in Lake County through an in depth visioning process.
With the help of CFSCI, the Mount Plymouth-Sorrento Planning Advisory Committee was able to build consensus on what residents envisioned for their community, which led to specific community goals and design guidelines that were implemented in the latest update to the Lake County Comprehensive Plan.
Once the goals were determined, a visioning charrette was held that merged the desires of the community with sustainable design techniques, such as rural preservation planning, residential transitioning and integrated land uses. The result of this process was a Vision Plan that will help to manage impending growth in a proactive and valuable way
